Is this the best book that's out there for perfumery creation? I don't mind the author injecting her spiritual beliefs into the book - it is her book after all. I was so fed up with all the spiritual nonsense that's in this book (how many times can you describe a scent as Sensual?) that I first took as the author's passion but then grew very tired of quickly. Lots of spiritual, cult-adjacent, mumbo-jumbo nonsense that's neither here nor there. However, the book is so filled to the brim with two things: To be fair, the historical aspects are helpful, so I'll exclude that. Revised 2022 Edition of Essence and Alchemy: A Natural History of Perfume by Mandy Aftel. So I thought it's perfect for me! I hurriedly bought it and read it.
